“Liamjazz” from YouTube sent this along this morning.  Although both the performance and the video are informal, I found the overall effect touching — Scott Hamilton joining a big band playing a Thirties chart of DAVENPORT BLUES outdoors in Leiden, for the pleasure of the public.  Here is the description of the video, reprinted verbatim —

Bernard Berkhout swing orchestra plays swing charts from the golden era of Jazz.

Clarinettist and general practitioner Bernard Berkhout started a new project just over 2 years ago: a Thirties Swing Band comprising only professional musicians that recreates the ideas and arrangements of jazz legend Benny Goodman. Berkhout takes listeners by the hand in a unique manner and leads them on a journey through the thirties. In a light manner, the band subtly connects the current temporary economic crisis, to the Great Depression of the 1930s.
